US & Neutral English Dialect Master Class
Live and online from Western Australia
It is essential that professional actors are as employable as possible. With an ever increasing emphasis on self-testing, global searches for new talent and a rapidly growing number of international productions filming in Australia, having a great US and English accent is essential.
Jean Goodwin is one of Australia’s leading dialect specialists. Her impressive resume reads like a who’s who of major Australian Theatre Companies and Institutions. Jean is presently based in Western Australian heading-up the voice programs at the highly prestigious WAAPA. In this four-session program Jean will give you the skills and resources necessary to have a General American and Neutral Standard English Accent (NSEA) at your fingertips.
Participants explore, in detail, the sound and structure of both of these essential dialects and, just as importantly, learn a method of approaching accent-work that can be applied to any dialect.
This class incorporates both group and one-on-one work. Participants also receive a General American dialect and a Neutral Standard English Accent dialect resource document and a recorded copy of Jean’s introduction to each accent.
