The Who, What, When, Where & Why of Intimacy
Hosted by the fantastic Rebecca Fortuna, this free lecture-seminar will offer insight into the intimacy movement that has swept the entertainment industry world-wide. The event lasts for approximately 90 minutes with 60 minutes dedicated to a lecture and 30 minutes for Q&A.
In the lecture-seminar Rebecca will discuss: consent, the role of an intimacy coordinator, how to talk about and create intimacy, types of intimacy and nudity.
What is intimacy? It’s all about making actors feel safe, so they can serve the director’s artistic vision and make intimate scenes passionate, sensual, funny, scary or uncomfortable as required. This lecture is open to everyone in the film and theatre communities: actors. directors, stage managers, producers, DOP, crew etc. We all have a role to play in the creation of a safe and free working space and are encouraged to get involved in the conversation.
The work of Intimacy Coordinators has received further recognition after the spectacular success of the hit television series Normal People.
