Introduction to Voice Acting
Live and online from Vancouver
Voice work has the potential to be a highly lucrative and extremely satisfying part of an actors life. Yet, getting the skills and know-how to start working as a voice actor can feel daunting and off-putting.
Rhona Rees is a SOVAS and Leo Award nominated voice actor with more than 24 years experience behind the mic and in front of the camera. In this class, she will teach you the essentials of entering the world of voice acting and give you the fundamental skills required to build success.
The primary focus of this four-session, comprehensive course will be upon commercial and animation. However, the course also covers vocal care and warm ups, demo building, working with an agent and other means to making a career with your voice, including audio book narration, walla (loop group), dubbing and video games. Participants will also gain an understanding of the landscape of the voice acting world and the specifics of establishing a home studio set-up.
Students will gain practical experience and feedback as they explore techniques to exhibit range and bring copy to life in commercial work before then diving head-first into the wild, wacky world of animation. Finally, students will gain an understanding of how to build character voices and make their mp3 stand out in the sea of auditions.
If you’re serious about making a living as an actor this course is not to be missed.
